Our Warranty Commitment

At USAAUTOPART, we are committed to providing quality used automotive parts backed by clear warranty terms and responsive customer support. We understand that purchasing a used engine, transmission, or other automotive component is an important decision, and our goal is to make the warranty process as clear, fair, and straightforward as possible.

This Limited Warranty applies to eligible products purchased directly from USAAUTOPART and should be read together with our Return & Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, Terms & Conditions, and any product-specific warranty terms provided at the time of purchase.

Nothing in this Warranty Policy is intended to take away any rights or protections that you may have under applicable federal, state, or local laws.

1. Warranty Coverage

USAAUTOPART provides limited warranty coverage for eligible used automotive components identified as being covered by a warranty at the time of purchase.

For used engines and transmissions, coverage generally applies to eligible internal mechanical components, subject to the specific warranty plan purchased and the conditions contained in this policy.

Warranty coverage begins on the date the product is delivered to the customer and continues for the warranty period specified on the customer’s invoice or warranty documentation.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, the warranty applies to the original purchaser and the vehicle identified on the original order or invoice.

2. Covered Components

Used Engines

For eligible used engines, warranty coverage may include internally lubricated mechanical components such as:

  • Engine Block

  • Cylinder Heads

  • Crankshaft

  • Camshaft

  • Connecting Rods

  • Pistons

  • Bearings

  • Valvetrain Components

  • Other internally lubricated internal moving components

Coverage is subject to the applicable warranty plan and all conditions of this policy.

Used Transmissions

For eligible used transmissions, covered internal components may include:

  • Internal Gears

  • Shafts

  • Bearings

  • Torque Converter, when supplied with the transmission

  • Other internally lubricated internal moving components

Specific coverage may vary depending on the product and warranty plan purchased.

3. Components Not Covered

Used automotive components may be supplied with external accessories or related components for convenience. These items are generally not considered covered internal mechanical components under this Limited Warranty.

Examples may include:

  • Sensors

  • Switches

  • Wiring Harnesses

  • Electrical Components

  • Water Pumps

  • Thermostats

  • Belts

  • Hoses

  • Gaskets

  • Seals

  • Spark Plugs

  • Filters

  • Fluids

  • Intake Manifolds

  • Exhaust Manifolds

  • External Accessories

Some of these components may be considered maintenance or service items and may need to be replaced during installation.

Customers are responsible for reviewing the product description and applicable warranty information before purchase.

4. Warranty Plans

The warranty available for a product will be identified at the time of purchase.

For eligible engines and transmissions, USAAUTOPART may offer the following warranty options:

Warranty PlanCoverage PeriodAdditional Cost
Standard Limited Warranty6 MonthsIncluded
Silver Extended Warranty1 Year15% of Order Amount

Extended warranty options, where available, must generally be selected and purchased at the time of the original transaction.

The warranty plan selected by the customer will be reflected in the applicable order, invoice, or warranty documentation.

5. Condition of Used Parts

All products sold by USAAUTOPART under this policy are previously owned automotive components.

Used parts may have normal cosmetic signs of prior use. Such characteristics may include:

  • Minor scratches

  • Surface rust

  • Paint fading or discoloration

  • Dirt or grease residue

  • Normal cosmetic wear

  • Other minor imperfections associated with previous use

Normal cosmetic wear does not, by itself, constitute a warranty defect when it does not affect the intended operation of the component.

If you believe that the part you received is materially different from the part ordered or was damaged during transportation, contact USAAUTOPART Customer Support as soon as possible.

6. Inspection Upon Delivery

Customers should inspect their shipment as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.

If you notice:

  • Shipping damage

  • Missing components

  • Incorrect merchandise

  • A part that materially differs from your confirmed order

please notify USAAUTOPART within 30 calendar days of delivery, whenever reasonably possible.

To help us investigate the issue, we may request:

  • Photographs of the product

  • Photographs of the packaging

  • Shipping documentation

  • Order information

  • A written description of the problem

  • Videos or other supporting evidence where appropriate

Our Customer Support Team will review the information and work with you toward an appropriate resolution.

7. Installation Recommendations

Proper installation is important for the safe and reliable operation of a used automotive component.

USAAUTOPART strongly recommends having engines, transmissions, and other major mechanical components installed by a qualified automotive repair facility or experienced professional technician.

Customers should, where applicable:

  • Install the component as soon as reasonably practical after delivery.

  • Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended installation procedures.

  • Replace routine maintenance components as appropriate for the specific vehicle and component.

  • Replace engine oil, filters, coolant, transmission fluid, and other required service fluids before operating the vehicle.

  • Inspect related components before installation.

  • Maintain copies of installation and maintenance records.

Keeping proper documentation may help our team investigate and process a warranty request more efficiently.

8. Installation Time Requirement

Unless otherwise agreed to in writing by USAAUTOPART, installation should be completed within 30 calendar days from the original delivery date in order to maintain warranty eligibility.

Customers who anticipate that installation will take longer should contact USAAUTOPART before the applicable deadline.

Any extension of the installation period must be confirmed by USAAUTOPART in writing.

9. What to Do if a Mechanical Problem Occurs

If you believe a covered component has experienced a mechanical failure during the applicable warranty period, contact USAAUTOPART as soon as reasonably possible.

To help prevent additional damage:

  1. Stop operating the vehicle if continued operation could cause further damage.

  2. Contact USAAUTOPART Customer Support.

  3. Do not disassemble, modify, repair, or dismantle the covered component without authorization from USAAUTOPART, except when immediate action is reasonably necessary to prevent additional damage.

Continuing to operate a vehicle after becoming aware of a serious mechanical problem may result in additional damage and could affect warranty eligibility.

10. Warranty Claim Documentation

To evaluate a warranty claim, USAAUTOPART may request information or documentation such as:

  • Order Number

  • Customer Information

  • Vehicle VIN

  • Vehicle Year, Make and Model

  • Installation Invoice

  • Repair or Diagnostic Report

  • Photographs

  • Videos

  • Maintenance records

  • Other information reasonably necessary to evaluate the claim

Customers are expected to provide accurate information and reasonably cooperate throughout the warranty review process.

Failure to provide requested information or reasonable access for inspection may delay the review or affect the ability to determine warranty coverage.

11. Warranty Inspection and Resolution

USAAUTOPART must be given a reasonable opportunity to review, inspect, diagnose, and evaluate an alleged warranty issue before another remedy is pursued.

Depending on the circumstances, USAAUTOPART may determine that the appropriate solution is to:

  • Repair the covered issue;

  • Replace the covered component with the same or a comparable component; or

  • Provide an applicable refund or other commercially reasonable remedy.

The specific remedy will depend on the circumstances of the claim, inspection results, warranty coverage, and availability of replacement inventory.

12. Replacement Parts

If USAAUTOPART determines that replacement is the appropriate warranty remedy, customers are expected to reasonably cooperate with the replacement process.

Replacement inventory is subject to availability.

If the exact same component is no longer available, USAAUTOPART may, where appropriate, provide a comparable replacement or another reasonable remedy consistent with the applicable warranty terms.

If a customer refuses or declines an approved replacement or otherwise prevents USAAUTOPART from providing the applicable warranty remedy, the warranty claim may be considered resolved or closed, subject to applicable law.

Any subsequent return or cancellation request will be handled according to the applicable Return & Refund Policy.

13. Customer Cooperation

Customers must provide accurate information and reasonably cooperate with USAAUTOPART during the warranty process.

This may include:

  • Providing requested documents

  • Providing photographs or videos

  • Providing diagnostic information

  • Allowing reasonable inspection

  • Providing installation documentation

  • Following reasonable warranty instructions

Failure to reasonably cooperate may delay the claim review or affect the determination of coverage.

14. Expenses Generally Not Covered

Unless otherwise expressly stated in writing or required by applicable law, this Limited Warranty generally does not cover indirect or additional expenses associated with the installation, removal, diagnosis, repair, or use of the product.

Such expenses may include:

  • Storage fees

  • Other incidental or consequential expenses

Customers should review the applicable warranty terms before purchasing a product.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Improper installation

Each warranty claim will be evaluated based on the individual circumstances and available evidence.

Warranty coverage may also be denied where information or documentation has been intentionally falsified, materially misrepresented, or where fraudulent activity is reasonably suspected.

16. Returns and Cancellations

Warranty claims and product returns are separate processes and may be governed by different terms.

Orders may be eligible for cancellation within 24 hours of purchase without penalty, subject to applicable law and the terms of the order.

After the applicable cancellation period, a cancellation may be subject to charges such as:

  • Restocking fee

  • Outbound shipping charges

  • Return shipping charges

  • Handling charges

  • Other applicable costs permitted by law

Refused deliveries may be treated as order cancellations and may be subject to applicable cancellation or return charges.

Special-order, inventory-hold, or custom-procurement deposits may be non-refundable where permitted by applicable law and the applicable order terms.

Customers seeking to return a product should contact USAAUTOPART within 30 calendar days of delivery and obtain return authorization before shipping the product back.

For complete return requirements, please review our Return & Refund Policy.

17. Warranty Transfer

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, this Limited Warranty is available only to the original purchaser and applies to the vehicle identified on the original order or invoice.

Warranty rights may not be transferred to another person, vehicle, or subsequent owner unless expressly permitted by USAAUTOPART in writing or required by applicable law.

18. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, USAAUTOPART’s liability under this Limited Warranty will generally not exceed the original purchase price of the covered product.

To the extent permitted by law, USAAUTOPART will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages arising from the purchase, installation, use, or inability to use a product.

Such damages may include:

  • Loss of vehicle use

  • Lost income

  • Towing expenses

  • Rental vehicle costs

  • Storage fees

  • Travel expenses

  • Lodging

  • Business interruption

  • Other consequential losses

Nothing in this section is intended to exclude or limit rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

19. Applicable Law

This Warranty Policy will be interpreted and enforced in accordance with applicable laws.

Any governing-law or venue provisions applicable to a customer’s purchase will be set forth in the USAAUTOPART Terms & Conditions and will be subject to any consumer rights that cannot legally be waived or restricted.
